Mood: indicative, subjunctive, imperative and conditional

Description

Mood refers to verb forms that express the speaker’s attitude toward an action, such as certainty, desire, or possibility. In Portuguese, the main moods are the indicative (e.g.: Já me vou), the subjunctive (e.g.: Quero que vás), and the conditional (e.g.: Gostaria de ir).

The imperative is also considered a mood.

Like tense, mood is expressed through changes in the verb form, including endings and, in some cases, stem changes.
