The imperfect describes a past situation, not a single completed event. Being born is a one-time event, so it is expressed with the preterite (nasci), not the imperfect.
However, it is correct to say: Quando nasci, o meu pai trabalhava em Madrid.
Q: Why is it Ela comia durante o jogo and NOT Ela comer durante o jogo?
The infinitive (comer) cannot follow a subject. When there is a subject, the verb must be conjugated to agree with it. Since the meaning is “was eating,” the imperfect (comia) is required.
